Mogadishu — As Muslims gather to celebrate the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the United Nations in Somalia extends its warmest wishes to all Somalis on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
“On behalf of the entire United Nations family in Somalia, I wish you all a peaceful and happy Eid al-Fitr, and join you in the spirit of reflection, kindness and compassion that are the foundations of this special, holy time,” said the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Somalia, James Swan.
“May the blessings of Eid bring joy, unity, and happiness to your families,” he added, “and we hope that the spirit of Eid will foster peace and solidarity throughout the country – Eid Mubarak! Ciid Wanaagsan!”
